Close Up

I took this right before laying him down for bed cause I realized I hadn't taken a pic of him today. My boss needed me to go in to work all day today .... It's days like these that I'm so grateful I don't have to work full time anymore and that I get to spend most of my day with Bear.

Sleepy Bear

Bear was a lot of fun today. Today was one of those days where I loved being a mom and soaking it in and playing with Bear. I didn't get a whole lot done around the house but I don't care today. Sometimes my absolute favorite thing is to hold him while he sleeps. He cuddles right up on me and will wrap his little fingers around one of mine or hold them to my chest like he's feeling my heart beat. Love you, Bear.

He talked to himself in his crib for 15 min before falling asleep.  Today was also the 3rd night in a row where he hasn't woken up in the middle of night at all...woo hoo. He would normally wake up just barely so that I'd have to get up and put his binky back in his mouth and then he'd fall back asleep...but he slept right through the night for three days straight. Crossing my fingers and knocking on wood that this is the new norm.

This was a first ... He fell asleep on the floor while he was playing. Best part..he kept on playing when he woke up as if nothing had happened.

Talker

Bear discovered his voice a couple days ago and talks all the time now.  He cooed all through church today....he talked all through sacrament, fell asleep in Sunday School and then talked his way through Relief Society. He's basically talking all day long now for when he's really tired.

It breaks my heart when he actually tears from crying ... that's just started happening. So sad.

Happy Thanksgiving

I am so incredibly thankful for this little guy. A happy and healthy little baby, who could ask for anything more? I am overwhelmed with gratitude for my little Bear.  It's only been 4 months but I can't imagine life without him now.

  He took his first swim in a swimming pool today and he loved it! He could not stop kicking and splashing in the water.  There was a little area where the water was only a foot deep so it was perfect to sit in and let him splash around.

He was petting Charles this morning while we were sitting on the bed and he was loving it. He's such a good little guy, how'd we get do lucky?

He absolutely loves his fingers ... they are almost constantly in his mouth unless he's got his binky or he's asleep.

All My Boys

First Scratch

17 weeks old today

 First real scratch that he gave himself.  Needless to say, I clipped his nails almost immediately after.  

I was trying to capture how little his hands are.

Peek-A-Boo

Like I said in the last post ... he really loves this blanket.  He's totally content when he's wrapped up in it, when he would otherwise not be.

New Favorite Blanket

My sister-in-law made this super cute blanket for Bear and it's his new favorite.  He really does love it.  You put the minky up to his cheek and he just cuddles into it.

Boots

We spent the day up in Brigham City for a baptism and Bear got his first pair of boots as a present. They were just so cute that we left then on him all day even though they didn't exactly match his outfit.

The Sweetest Thing

The best was that I played this back to Bear after I recorded it and he talked back to himself every time he would coo on the video.

Flying High

When I went into Bear's room this morning when he woke up, Charles was asleep in front of his crib, which is a first. I can see that happening a lot in the future, Charles loves Bear. I know he's a dog, but he's really sweet with Bear and It's easy to tell he just wants to play with him and be his friend.

And a random little fact: Bear talks the most when he's tired. He'll coo non-stop just before he falls asleep. Kinda strange but It's really cute to listen to him.

Here's another first for ya .... Bear is sitting up all by himself in Matt's hand. Matt just has his hand back there just in case.

Happy Halloween

Matt took Bear to show him off to his old coaches at BYU today ... So he got to meet Coach Mendenhall and the others and Matt's old academic advisor, Jim. Bear even got to see a black guy for the first time, ha.  That's about as crazy as our Halloween got this year ... We figured Bear isn't old enough yet to go ask for candy from people so we could eat it all.

But isn't he just the cutest little Mickey Mouse you've ever seen?

16 weeks

Crazy how fast time flies and how big he is getting so fast.  He fits into most 6 month clothes now too.  He's got a long torso and short legs (like his daddy) ... so he's long enough for 6 mo. onesies but he's not quite wide enough for them. So he's kind of in between sizes at the moment.

Bear's rather fascinated by his hands and legs this past week.  It's like he's concentrating really hard to figure out how they work and sometimes will stare at them forever.

He always makes these faces when he gets a bath ... usually when you get water on his face. I was determined to get a picture this time ... I think it's hilarious.

Play Time

I took my first shower while Bear was still awake today ... pretty monumental for me.   I set his little play mat in his play-pen (so Charles couldn't get to him) and jumped in a quick shower.  He just cooed the whole time as he played.  It was fantastic.
